> Background Information
Edgar's parents were con-artists. His family moved quite often, when the city they were in ran out of decent marks, or if someone caught on, and the area got a little too hot. They always lived in a state of luxury, and because of that Edgar held his parent's art in a somewhat high regard. He couldn't say the same for his parents however.
He figured he could pull off something similar with a little less subtlety. The method's used by his parents for robbery took too much time, and while the reward was high, so was the amount of work. Something else appealed to him, the wonderful world of piracy. While his mother and father were away preforming some sort of scam, he managed to gain access to one of his parent's cover identity bank accounts. He withdrew the credits it contained.
While not an incredibly large amount, it was enough to fund the purchase of a Sabre. He had no need to acquire a pilot's license as it was purchased from a dealer who didn't exactly follow each practice of the law to the letter.
With the fighter in his possession, he rented a rather small ship hangar on Barrier Gate station, and began a career of piracy, using the alias's Logan Cunningham and Alex Barat, staging his attacks in Cortez and Magellan. He amassed a reasonable amount of credits, and was able to increase his arsenal of ships. Occasionally he'd have people bargain and reason with him, to let them escape from his piracy attempts when they couldn't afford to pay for his fees. It always came back to bite him later.
Eventually his pirating operation gained a little too much heat, and both of his alias's amassed bounties exceeding three million credits. Bounty hunters and mercs seemed to be emerging out of thin air to hunt him. He ended up losing most of his ships, but he gained combat experience, and slowly learned how the mercs were hunting him. He tailed one of the mercs who was hunting him, and a thousand other targets.
Observing how many people the merc was able to down, he could only assume how much money the guy was making. If his own bounty was in the range of millions of credits, he figured the other bounties were within that range as well. After learning this information, he ditched his aliases. He started doing a few assassination contracts for those with the money, and his bank account began increasing.
After working solo for several months, he acquired a contract to hit a Bowex convoy. He was given the details from an informant within the corporation, and he prepared for the assignment. An entire convoy was out of his league alone, but he'd been informed that he wasn't the only merc hired for the job.
When he arrived, all he saw was debris from the destroyed convoy, and a Reaver making his way out of the scene. That's the crew he wanted to run with. He set about getting into the ranks of the Reaver Mercenary Company.
