Planetform vs. Synth Foods vs. Orbital Spa & Cruise

I have been very interested in reviving either planetform and synthfoods. As for OSC, there's currently an OS&C unofficial faction, regardless of how people feel its being run, if theirs an option, I'd suggest that people fill in other holes in the RP universe if one can. However, if you wanna do OSC, there is a great oppertunity of things you can do with that. If I can help in any way, please PM me.

The two factions have upsides and downsides. I'd choose whichever one you think fits you best to revive.

Heres a short list (in my opinion)
Synth Foods
Pros:
- No current unofficial faction (No competition or leadership problems)
- Easily defined in game actions (Trading synth food/ other foods)
- Set Enemies, Definied vanilla confilcts and lore (You know who to shoot right off the bat:P)
- All other relations are open to player interpritation (Oppertunities for diplomatic RP)
- Independance from other interests (Synth foods is a private corperation, so you don't have to bow to anyone)

Cons:
- Lack of enthusiam can be a problem (powertrading synthfoods only goes so far...)
- Preset Enemies (This can go both ways, as it removes the ability to operate peacefully in certain areas.)
- Corperate RP (This can be a pro or a con, some people require more motivation than just making money to RP. This can be easily solved though.)
- Hard to take seriously (Don't expect the community to instantly revere a faction that is essentially selling glorified baby food)
- Hard to expand (Its easy to simply fly around trading synth foods, but what if you want to grow? Its not easy... It requires imadgenation and pacience. Again, this can easly be solved by player determination.)



Planetform

Pros:
- SOOO COOL!!!! (I mean, honestly, they create planets! New frickin' habitable planets! How awesome is that?!?)
- Huge oppertunity for science RP (If you want to RP a scientist, terraforming is highly interesting)
- Constantly new things to do (You will never be without new terraforming projects)
- Huge variety for how you want to play the corp (Do you want them to be pure buisnessmen? Shady criminals? Humanitarians? Any one of them, and many more, are possible)
- Has gone through so many changes that its possible to deviate from the vanilla lore a little bit (So much stuff has changed, its possible to change just a little bit more within reason.)
- If you are willing to write one helluva story on the forums, you can do anything in this corp. (self explanitory)

Cons:
- Be aware that Planetform is HQed in Bretonia, which tends to get hit with a fresh pile of toxic waste every other friday.
- If you arn't into forum RP, or science RP, or "empty" RP (RP that doesn't provide an immidiate or certain in-game response) DONT BE IN PLANETFORM!
- There *might* be a planetform unofficial corp somewhere, inactive but still existant. You'd have to work out a way to merge with this one if it does exist. Rival planetform factions just doesn't work.
- You can make some money, but don't expect to be raking in the big bucks trading terraforming gases or gaian wildlife
- Planetform has a lot of enemies, as long as it remains hostile to Kusari. It would be possible to remove about 9/10ths of the factions enemies (talk to me about this on skype or something) but it might not work out, would deviate a bit from the lore written by other planetform factions, and might backfire. Also, regardless of what you do, there will always be people shooting you.
- There have been a few past planetform factions. You will be inheriting their baggage.
- You have to work with the admins and the devs. This isn't nessicaraly a bad thing ( I acutally would really like this) But if you clash or butt heads with the admins or devs in any way, this isn't the faction for you. Cooperation with the dev team is nessicaray if you ever want any of your terraforming projects to get realized in game.
-Requires good relations with all the PLAYERS on the server. Because there is no terraforming mechanic in game, you arn't gonna go anywhere without community support.
-This faction will be very hard to get of the ground initially. Don't expect anything amazing to happen in the first month of doing this. In fact, don't expect any response for doing this. Don't expect respect, cooperation or admiration in running Planetform. That way, you can't be dissapointed.
-If you arn't patient, don't do this. Terraforming takes a LOOONNGGG time.
-Did I mention that most of this will be empty RP on the forums? Unless your are genuinly interested in writing RP, with no need for validation, you'll hate running this corp.





Overall, I'd suggest SynthFoods for you to run. However, If you are willing to take the pain inititally and really be an awesome person, Planetform could be a better option. Just be awair that it'll be hard, you'll need pacience, and don't expect anything from it for the first couple months of running it. Don't expect others to motivate you to do these things. Unless you are motivated by pure intrinsic desire to make these factions, it won't end well.
