I was thinking more along the lines of using lvl 8 and 9 fighter turrets as a sort of point defence weapon.

In other spacesimulation games (at least all of those I've played), BSs are meant to deal with normal fighters. And other BSs. Actually they're usually able to deal with everything. So if you want to compare Freelancer BSs, then I say compare them with other games BSs (or equivalent).

Why are real life battleships not meant to deal with small boats? Because its a waste of time! You do not spend years developing a great big ship just to have it go out to sea and shoot at rowboats you build it to go out and shoot at other big ships. Dealing with the small boats is what youve got Corvettes and Destroyers for

Giving them such a small cargospace was very deliberate. Were talking warships here, not freighters. Once youve loaded the ship with food, ammunition, shield generators, and crew just how much space do you think is left for cargo?

I wasnt aware of that. If going by that, battleship shields should a a regen of around 13.000
