If you don't want to re-roll, just use console commands.

player.setrace desiredrace
showracemenu

If you just do "showplayermenu" there's a high chance it will mess up your perks and skill levels.

I also advise on keeping the same character name when you do that.

I've used it a couple of times and it worked flawlessly, switching from female Nord female to Redguard male and then to Imperial female.

In any case, I recommend saving your game before trying this, just to be sure.

Doesn't work when you're playing on the Xbox 360... :nono:

You can even plug a USB keyboard in and still can't access the console. (Now THAT would make it incredibly cool - if we could do THAT on the 360, instead of having to wait until I can get a new video card for my computer in - which won't be until after Thanksgiving.)

EDIT: It was really nice to be able to import my Xbox characters into the PC on Oblivion, though...
