Running Part 1

((Please be aware that this story is only Semi-cannon for the Virulian Enclave and should not be thought of an 'actual' presentation of what the Virulian Enclave is, this is just me venting ideas.. For a long time ahead most probably))

• The bullets ricocheted of the walls of the metal hallway, three burst salvo. Followed by a second burst half a second later.
  He rolled across the damp hard floor, his left knee hitting directly on a metal grate as he rolled around into a now almost walk.. His knee ached something fierce but he could not afford to slow down, they almost had him after all.
  
  Three shots from his gun went off, none hitting the marks, but they where only an distraction, he needed time to gather himself and get back to running.
  
  Another burst, another clatter of hard bullets hitting the wall to his right.
  
  "Accuracy must be off.. Or they aren't actually aiming for me.."
  
  He didn't know whether this was good or bad.. But know he had a chance at least.
  
  A final bullet left the barrel of his gun before it clicked empty, the sound echoed in his head as the bullet from the enemy behind him hit the wall did.. All the same..
  
  Panic.. Fear..
  
  "Oh s**t! Oh s**t!"
  
  He crossed the hallway and ran into the next left corridor, he heard the heavy steps behind him, rapid and metallic.. The sounds increased his fear..
  
  He ran as fast as he could down the hallway, knowing that his pursuers had gained another 3 meters on his 10 meter advantage that he had when it had began in these ratways.
  
  With a pang of relief he saw the door, the second later he felt a sharp pain in his left foot.. Ankle cracked..
  
  "I'm done.."
  
  Head over heels he fell, the longest fall he had ever fallen.. Time stood still as he hit the plated floor under him, gun flying from his hand.
  
  "Why do I care, it's empty..."
  
  His bad knee hurt badly as he took the blunt of the fall with his knees and palms..
  
  He couldn't look up, his eyes watering as the pain in the ankle took hold of his senses.. He had to run, it was all he could do.. He heard them switching magazines.. He froze on the floor, pain forgotten..
  
  He took a leap with his good leg and bolted at the door.
  
  "It's right there!!"
  
  If he got trough he may be able to crack the mechanism on the other side, sealing the door behind him.
  
  The door wasn't impressed of his leap and didn't open on his approach, all that greeted him was the iron bolted door.. That had been sealed prior on him entering these hallways..
  
  A crack of pain jolted his consciousness and he was out, embracing darkness as his head met the unforgiving iron.
