What do you think about CD's and Bombers and Gunboats.

I have a hard time getting my head around bombers in Disco. They should be used to launch coordinated firepower attacks against a fixed target, but we don't (yet) have things like bases that would suit this, and we're not likely to have enough of them to make it a full-time bomber interesting. They could be used to drop munitions on things like battleship mortar, or shield generator, etc., but that means it is not supposed to pick and claw a target to death but instead hit and run, which is very limited opportunity for playing, and boring.

Honestly I think they should probably just be classed as super-duper-heavy fighters, since that is how they are all used anyway. Make all guns turrets (like capships) so they don't have missiles, let them mount fighter/transport turrets, <strike>and give them weaker versions of gunboat turrets for bigger targets</strike>. Lower their hull stats to rebalance against fighters. They will still be slow and less nimble.

And gunboats will chew through them no probs.

With the 4.86 coming out (?) and introduction of turret split and turret view steering I don't there is much that can be said about balance between those classes. It's all in the stars at this point.
