The Bounty Hunter capital ships 'evolve' with each addition, much like their snub line. Adding this between the Bullhead and the Mako leaves the same impression like parking your SUV between two Ferrari's.
Point is, it does not fit. The BHG ships are taller than they are wide, the opposite of this ship. It does not look like a Light Battleship, and they hardly need a Light Battleship anyway.
And in what way does the current Mako suck? I didn't quite catch that. Model-wise or Stat-wise ?
Take, for example, the LSC cruiser compared to the LD, they're radically different.
The RM Cruiser to the RM Battlesnail. Extremely different.
Kusari Destroyer to the Kusari Battleship. Kilometers apart.
My point being, as both a player and a designer, that the silly notion that the capitalships have to be oversized snubs is frankly poor design and only causes monotony. (and the whole snubs having a box or two added and suddenly becoming a lot tougher and having more powercore etc was silly anyway, even in vanilla)
Discovery, especially with ship design, is so conservative. So conservative it loops around and becomes the opposite. Trying to keep the retail Freelancer style, while blatantly ignoring and spitting on it. You so called 'designers' don't live up to your title, you don't design, you don't create. You merely replicate. Like a Von Neumann machine.
The Bounty Hunter fan-added ships may as well have just been upscaled versions of the LF. It's dumb, ugly, and uninspired.
I feel this is something that needs to be said and needs to be read.
As for the topic's mesh, it's a decent shape, it, however, doesn't look like a large ship in the least. A large ship needs small details to help it appear big. The shape of the vessel, however, doesn't lend itself to a large ship. The wings, for instance, makes us think of real-life fighters, and makes it appear to be smaller to us, which is why in general, you don't see capitals designed with large wings on them, but you do see snubcraft with large wings.
The shape is too fishy too me, it looks like you went fishing and tried to fly across the universe inside of it. Though that's more of a personal preference.
