I'll say it again; only BATTLESHIPS should be able to power BATTLESHIP weapons! You shouldn't be able to get cruiser/destroyer weapons either unless your flying one of them. Gunship weapons only work for gunships and above. ANYTHING ELSE DOSN'T MAKE SCENCE!
Igiss, my advice would be to make the gunship, cruiser/destroyer, and battleship weapons take so much energy, no fighter or freighter should be able to use them. Then, you make it so that gunships, cruisers/destroyers, and battleships have enormous reactors so they can use them without having to wait for a recharge. That, or you make it so they can't be bought or unmounted.
