Since the revealing of Gallia to Sirius, a mysterious substance has made its appearance on the Sirian market. The substance, nicknamed "Nox" by its users, is branded as a "cheap, accessible alternative to Cardamine", and has gained notorious popularity within the working classes of Sirius. Short term effects are somewhat much alike Synthethic Marijuana, but on a much larger scale, creating a severe psychological dependency. Samples have been gathered by different Sirian scientists, who commuted their efforts in attempting to identify the lasting effects of the drugs, which are yet unknown, though leaked Gallic researches seem to note no dangerous long term effects, other than dementia if one attempts to stop taking the drug, which is why the motto of the Nox dealers' is "Once a Customer, Always a Customer". Nox was found to have several curative uses in miniscule quantities (while keeping its addicting factor) on patients suffering from incurable diseases or who are near death, and could be more a effective and much cheaper substitute than most such other drugs used in these treatments.
Another surprising find was made: a recent research claims that, even if Nox and Cardamine are two entirely different drugs which affect different components of the body and brain, the addiction of the first could replace the later inconsequently, and even potentially reverse the effects of Cardamine on a long term scale. More researches need to be made regarding this, though it is expected that the Houses will ban the product from public use in a few weeks or so.
