Whats the point of the Smuggler ID if your going to shoot first and ask questions later?

What is the point of a smuggler ID if the first time you get caught you will be on KoS anyway?.

If the trader/smuggler gets away from you and manages to dock he made it, end of. He shouldn't be persecuted when he undocks with legal cargo, you guys didn't even manage to scan him first so you where not sure he was even carrying contraband in the first place.

To be honest we may aswell get rid of the ID now.

And to answer someones question from the first page no the LSF npcs don't fly anything bigger than fighters.

Ive never liked the idea of the LSF (police) having more cap ships than the actual NAVY! (SA) ....
