On topic:
Planet Kyushu - Rice as normal food and Wasabi as Luxury food?

Planet Junyo - Fish as normal food and a Whale like fish as the Luxury food equivalent?

Also, is this only for Samura/Kusari then? What about the other houses?

That is why i reckon a solution is regional variants for Food and Luxury Food:

[House] Staples -> Food Rations
[House] Delicacies -> Luxury Food

Other specific items people are describing such as Rice, Soy, Wasabi, Seafood and so forth could be used in the infocard descriptions for each of these.

It seems natural to have regional food variants, particularly in the Freelancer economy*


*Of course in 'real' space travel one would not waste resources moving foodstuffs. One would instead move seed stock, and animals in embryo or even simple DNA form - everything is much cheaper if grown/prepared onsite from local materials.
