With the Gallics breaking through Omicron 80 , while the Outcasts were/are already having enough trouble holding back their Corsair brothers in Eta, the pebble force of the Colonial Republic gets trough their defenses in Tau-37. T-23 and T-29, even 37 are already much easier systems to go through, because we've spent there years. What you're saying is like not knowing your own back yard.
Also, I don't see anywhere said in T-37 that it's that heavily defended as you said it is. But lets Rpretend that it is, and read the above argument again.
