To VP Orion, Black Talons

Sir, I took the Iceman out for a run today to give the crew a run down. We proceeded to the Sigma 13 Jump Hole to see if any Wild were in the area. I had been there a few minutes when the pirate Creteria ( I believe that was the correct spelling ) appeared on short range scanners, I thought he may have made a run for it on sighting us but credit to him he did not.
The ship as a few kinks to work out, some of the systems seem to be malfunctioning. The pirate was attacking a poor trader, who I must say was putting up a spirited defence. The said pirate begged me to leave him alone, the men needed the shake down. He was flying a Ravens Talon and the gunners were finding him hard to hit.
That will be another thing to get looked at when she goes in for repairs, I gave encouragment to the gunners and trusted in them to allow for misalignment. Although he was jinking all over the place the lads finally got the measure of him and a great cheer went thro the ship when he exploded in flames.
A search of the wreckage did not reveal his presence, I am almost glad he got away he proved a worthy opponent and one no doubt we will be seeing again. The next time he might be more wary of the Black Talons.
I shall be taking the ship to Alster for final repairs and have given the crew one weeks leave in celebration of their first kill.
On another note I was wondering if any policy decisions have come down from on high. The troops seem to be at a loss for something to do at the moment, we need some direction.
I am glad Mr Cummings is recovering, Mr Wagner did'nt do to bad a job.
Finally the good ship Apache is fully fitted out and ready to launch. Should bring a new bow to our arsenal.
