Anyhow dusty, the problem Govedo has with the SCRA ID has nothing to do with contraband.
Rather it's the selective reading and a certain interpretation that turns

- Can demand contraband, levy fines, and destroy ships if they refuse to comply with contraband demands, refuse to cooperate or are affiliated with a group at war with the Coalition.

into

- Can.... destroy ships if they..... are affiliated with a group at war with the Coalition.

Added onto an stripping of the protections of civilians from SCRA.
Moreover, what makes that super scary is the organization.
A pirate is no big deal.
A gang of pirates is scary.
A military gunning for traders with no need to demand is supersuper scary and what Govedo here fears.
And, as Disco has proven time and time again, what can be abused will be.
End of story.
If they promise not to do it, then why should they have the ability to do it anyways?

EDIT: Just what is a shiop affiliated with a group at war?
Bowex cuse the BAF is at war with the SCRA? Or a ship part of a faction that has actively declared war?
