When Mr. Robert Huntington got to the Prison outside the main city of New London he promptly showed his ID to the scanner. The ID was denied. He pressed the red button that normally allowed visitors to come in. There was a male voice. Mid-thirties.
"Hello?"
"Hello, this is Robert Huntington, prisoner #2246. I can't get in."
"Odd, normally prisoners want to go out. Let me check the computer."
A few minutes went by.
"Yes, Mr. Huntington, please come inside."
When Robert got in to the prison he was escorted by two guards to the warden's office. The office was concrete and smelled like tobacco.
"Mr. Huntington, I would like to congratulate you on your bail."
"I'm sorry? I'm not sure if I heard you."
"You are free to leave. Your criminal record has been swept clean."
"But who?"
"I'm not at liberty to tell you that."
Confused, he walked out of the prison a free man. But he had no place to go, no place to stay.
