I don't see a problem with this myself, I am assuming that if factions merge for this purpose they must submit a new faction request the same as any faction that wishes to change anything on their faction writeup.
That would make sense, yeah. Kind of. Would be easier to just submit a thread to the Admins detailing the proposed changes, really. Considering a lot of factions had separate tags which they removed due to the tracker, it would seem a bit off to penalise them through a faction resubmission for rectifying that.
