All right, it seem like there's a couple of people who might be interested in roleplaying the LPI. This will be an unofficial squadron of police pilots following the same rules as the NPC faction. If you want to join our cause, feel free to post here!

Current status:
Ongoing discussion. The most important points to be decided are player names, policing rules and diplomacy status.

Player naming convention: not decided yet

Area of operations: New York except for Zone 21, Colorado, Texas, California
Ships: Patriot, Liberator, possibly Prison Liner
Equipment: Whatever can be bought on lawful Liberty bases or is seen equipped on NPC LPI ships. Graviton shields. Cruise disruptor and at least one shield-busting weapon recommended.

Objectives:
- scanning ships for illegal cargo,
- defending allied ships from outlaws,
- preventing and resolving all hostilities near allied bases, trade lanes and jump gates,
- enforcing the server rules in an RP manner.

Rules:
- To do. This will concern how are we to punish people who break law, what the actual law is, our rules of engagement and so on. Suggestions are welcome.

Suspicious: (Be careful. Still protect from unlawfuls though.)

Not welcome: (These factions are not welcome in Liberty. All ships should be escorted to the nearest jump gate out of Liberty space. Engage if they do not comply. Unlawful factions that are not openly hostile to Liberty should go here.)

Hostile: (Kill on Sight. These are the enemies of Liberty and should not be left to escape. Only factions openly hostile to Liberty should go here.)

* marks a militant faction whose presence in Liberty space should always be questioned. Only allow entry if they have a good reason to be here, otherwise treat them as not welcome. Military and/or Police escort throughout the duration of presence in Liberty space is recommended.

Yes, i would edit it a bit.
First, make NPC diplomacy separate from the PC diplomacy.
For instance, look at this line :

101st, Benitez, BLS, Bs, Corsairs, HF, Keepers, LDDLG, LH, Nomads, Order, Outcasts, Phantom, RHA, Rogues, RoS, SCRA, TBH, [W], Xenos

You have BLS, 101st, Ros and Outcasts.
Get my point?

Make it separate, like this :

NPC diplomacy -

Friendly - Liberty Navy, LSF
Neutral - All others
Hostile - Outcasts, Rogues, Xenos, Lane Hackers

And then in the PC diplomacy put every faction.
And as i said, all criminals except Outcasts, Rogues, Xenos and Hackers should be unfriendly.
Even Unioners to unfriendly, not Hostile.
All non criminals that act outside of the Liberty space to Neutral.
All Liberty corporations to friendly.
All Liberty lawfuls to allied.
All Terrorists to Hostile - that means the Order as well. We think of them as terrorists.
And if i recall, NovaPG are now Terrorists as well. They can come to Liberty to attack if they like.
So, NovaPG to hostile as well.
I believe that is the easiest way to make a diplomacy, and nothing is wrong with it.

And then, make a line that says :
All independents will be treated by their ID and our NPC diplomacy.
Which means, if someone is an independent Outcast, he will be shot at, nevertheless he's not RoS, or 101st.
