From a GRN perspective;
1.) No Marechal would travel outside of a battleship. And our battleships always travel with escorts.

Fine, it does not have to be a Marechal it can be any old GRN VIP which could explain why they were travelling in a liner rather than an battleship, Especially since they were travelling behind gallic lines they must feel safe. Thus any GRN Convoy is open to attack!

2.) GRN watches the jumpholes to Sirius vigilantly. There are only two entrances into/out of Gallia. One is the minefield in Lorraine, the other is the minefield in Languedoc. Both are surrounded by minefields and guarded by heavily fortified bases which, in-roleplay, have a battlegroup operating with them to ensure border security. A lone battleship would get nowhere. Some fighters and bombers could probably make it through, by just running through and not fighting the defense forces. A battleship cannot do that, it'd get caught and pounced on.

All the holes in and out of gallia are being watched huh, hmm well this is not going to take place in gallia it will take place in orkney which is alot less secure. You see for everything inRP which you say is impossible to do there is something else inRP which can counter that. For e.g. you sat GRN monitor every Jumphole, well the HMS-Argosax being a experimental class of 'Dunkirk' type-571 Battleship carries a Jump Drive on board that allows the Argosax to jump from one system to another (which although it uses alot of fuel - enough for 1 Jump) allows it to jump without being detected as it does not use the jumpholes, that you say the GRN are watching.....

This mission is a simple hit and grab on some frog VIP in Orkney which goes wrong, GRN are trying to get the VIP back after which they will then destroy the Argosax and the BAF come and try to rescue the Argosax who the GRN are holding Hostage.

3.) Blowing up a ship =/= capturing its VIP. When you blow up a ship, the passengers aboard die, unfortunately. You'd have to board the ship and take him. All the while slowing you down and keeping you in place while the fleet the liner called for help comes bearing down on you.

Some how the Liner gets badly damaged and the Argosax threatens to kill everyone on board if they dont hand over the VIP, frogs get scared and hand him over. Problem Solved

4.) Since Marechals only travel in their own battleships, not liners, a Valor can defeat a Dunkirk in a one-on-one fight. Oh, and again; they don't travel without escorts..

I have personally taken down 5 GRN Valors in my Dunkirk all by myself, which I can prove so I dont know what Dunkirks you have been fightin but it werent me. So that statement is not entirely true!

5.) We don't need Marechals from New Paris to provide a morale boost for our soldiers. If we needed morale boosts, we'd have the King make another transmission to his soldiers. Also, the Grande Marechal operates from the Front Lines.

Troops always need support, whether its from their leader or from some dancing girls flown in specially to entertain the troops. Sometimes a transmission from the king is not always enough

From a BAF perspective;

1.) Why the hell is a Dunkirk captain taking his ship into Gallia without orders.

If you read the RP of the 13th Fleet: http://discoverygc.com/forums/index.php?...pic=117710 you will clearly understand, why we operate where we do. The 13th take orders from me and no else apart from those shadows within the Bretonian Government who we are the brain child of.

2.) Why the hell is a Dunkirk captain traveling around without escort.

The 13th Fleet are a small detachment of the BAF working independently of the BAF| and BRF main fleets, operating behind enemy lines engaging in dangerous missions for Recon and Hunting purposes we have spies in the GRN. When intel about new GRN Warships funnels through that they maybe headed to bretonia we intercept said ships and destroy them before they even reach bretonia. I have personally been involved in the interception and destruction of 8 Valor Battleships everywhere from Orkney right down to Leeds. We have discovered them sometimes with escorts mostly alone and all fell to HM Guns.

Captains of the 13th are suicidal and will send their crews to their deaths if it meant stopping just one more Valor by ramming its engines with their own ship. Thats what sets us apart from the rest we will do anything to get the job done. Anything to save bretonia from the fall, thats why a Dunkirk would travel to enemy territory without an escort. We are not their to be escorted we are their to infiltrate, track and destroy all targets of oppurtunity. Even if we must die then we shall.

3.) This event doesn't make sense with Bretonia's defensive strategy of delaying actions trying to keep GRN out of New London long enough for us to rebuild our navy and collect support from other groups.

World War 2 was not won defensively it was won Offensively on both the Frontline and behind enemy lines, Sabotage, Assaination and Suicide Missions were what won WW2 not sitting back and waiting for the Nazis to cross the English Channel, and many lost their lives engaging in these missions some of whom will remain a mystery forever.
The 13th Fleet operates on the same principles.

Now since your the leader of both the GRN| and the BAF| why dont you jump onboard and support this Hostage / Rescue attempt event. Because clearly for evey hole anyone picks at this event I can counter pick it!
