Date: 2 June 819 System: New Berlin Location: Planet New Berlin, in my hotelroom. Topic: Side trip into the Sigmas.
The Sigmas. Home territroy of the Gas Miners Guild. This place is full of history. Though, I've rarely been here before. People say, that this place is crowded by pirates, who hide inside the debris fields, remains of the once-proud Rheinland Imperial fleet, which got beaten in an ambush by the GMG in the 80-year war. Anyways, I took the trade lane through the Crow Nebula to Helgoland. From there, ALG Waste Disposal, salvages and cleans-up the affected area near Yanagi Depot.
At the end of the next lane, I passed a GMG base, the Gas Miner Naha, where I refilled my tanks with 41 tons of fresh mined H-Fuel for just 29,930 credits. Quite cheap I must say. After that, I moved on to the Honshu jumpgate. But since it wasn't my intention to enter Kusari space - I located the Sigma-19 jumphole and moved towards it, through a dangerous gas field.

Arrived there, I found myself in a simliar gas field again. I flew by another Gas Miner - called Ogashawa, which lied in the middle of the Hiryu Cloud. From there, I noticed a huge beatiful blue gas giant. My nav map told me, that there's a Luxury Liner in the orbit of Planet Hiran. I flew there and docked at the Orbital Spa and Cruise's Liner 'Hawaii'.

From the bar I had an amazing view of the whole Sigma-19 system. What a clever place to run a Luxury Liner. I wonder how they handle the presence of the Outcasts and Corsairs in this system. However, I had some repairs on my ship, and undocked from the Liner, on my way into the Gikka Dust Cloud, since an employee of the OS&C gave me the hint to have a look at the 'flower-like formations - the Gikka "dust blossoms". Wonderful. Eventhough I met a Corsair convoy there, hauling artifacts to Omicron Eta... Hm funny. I'm just four jumps away from Omicron Alpha. I displaced that thought quickly and entered Sigma-59.
And that's what I saw first:
Planet Nagaoka.
Impressive, isn't it? I'm afraid, that I fell in love with that planet's appearance. His color was so... 'mesmerizing'! But that feeling got disrupted, as suddendly a GMG contact appeared on my scanners. Almost automatically I engaged my cloaking device and ran towards the Sigma-17 jumphole. How careless I've been, entering a guard system, without checking my scanners frequently.
In Sigma-17, I entered the Nemuro Dust Field, where the Atka Research Station was located. Run by Cryer Pharmaceuticals, with the purpose to study the Alien Organisms commonly found in the Edge clouds. In the bar, I listened to some rumors: I've heard, that Cryer hired Bounty Hunters, for protection and to get live Outcasts as test subjects to run experiments on. How distasteful, that's worse than slavery! I controled my anger on them, for debasing my brothers and sisters, and left this inhuman place again. (Before they found out, that I'm an maltese-origin man, who could be used as 'laboratory rabbit' for some cardamine tests!) without hesitation, I jumped back to Sigma-13.

On my way to the Frankfurt jumpgate. I noticed a group of pirates near the gate, waiting for some poor traders and travelers to cut their throats. I decided to avoid any interaction with them and entered Luneburg as alternative route to Frankfurt.
A system, owned by the Bundschuh, a 'splitted' populist political faction, if you want so. Luneburg contains a small base and two uninhabited planets. Not much to see here, so I jumped to Frankfurt.

Back in Frankfurt, at the edge of the Taunusfeld, I took course to Planet Holstein. And from there, I took the lanes back to Planet New Berlin, where I terminated my small exploration tour for now. I must admit, that the Sigmas have some interesting stories on stock. But still, I've been glad when I arrived back at Planet New Berlin, looking forward to my 'gemütliches Zimmer', like you say in rheinlandish.
