Corsairs that dock in New Berlin and friends

I would say that the RM is being a bit harsh in condemning and shooting people who are merely affiliated with criminal factions... especially smugglers and traders, mercs... i think that until you actually see these people committing a crime you should not be killing them. KOS someone who actually has a Corsair ID is one thing... but a trader whose tag really just says "i kinda like the Corsairs" is a little excessive and i would call it an abuse of police and military power...

But then again rheinland isn't known for its.... just laws, and seems to have a "guilty until proven innocent" policy..... oh well....

Well, Laowai, we don't do it. What we do... Actually I'll say "what I do" since I'm not the voice of the RM is give them hell. I'll RP all kinds of "special treatments" towards these characters. From questioning to weapon's training at their craft until they state their business in Rheinland and do it good. The primary job of the military isn't being nice to everyone, it is keeping their territory safe and free from threats. If I'm inclined to believe you're not someone to be trusted (here is where that person's affiliation input comes in handy), I won't lay off of you until I figure out what you are, trustworthy or downright criminal. The military, or at least my character, don't like gray areas.

I won't just shoot anyone mindlessly and sometimes I pay the price for it really. Yesterday there was a pirate IDed transport in New Berlin. Pirates are KoS by the RM book. But since the guy was in a clean transport and minimally armed (one class 1 turret) I (player) figured perhaps the guy was setting up a char or was a new player that had no idea, so I decided to RP ordering him out of our territory to give him a chance to understand what Rheinland is about. I told him to leave and he said he was waiting for someone. I told him he could wait elsewhere, not in Rheinland territory, and gave him ten seconds to start his engines and be escorted out of our space. As I was around five, what a surprise, a pirate IDed eagle undocked from New Berlin and instantly opened fire at me without warning. Had to sweat in my Snubnose's cockpit to kill them both. Fortunately there was a RH police character around to assist me.

That's what I get for being nice and it's my fault really for being ooRP and not mindlessly shoot the transport to oblivion. Still wonder why we are so strict and not very nice?
