"Get the crate out of here. I want to be off this station before anyone knows we were here."

Scholtz and his friends turned and walked out of the room, heading in the direction of the utility hangers. Now dis-used, they were the perfect spot to land without drawing too much attention to themselves. Their bodyguards hauled the crate behind them on a basic wheeled skiff.

As they progressed down the corridor, one of the bodyguards stopped and drew out his blaster, pointing it at the crate. Noticing this, Sholtz sighed and turned.

"Kruff, what are you doing?"

The bodyguard was slowly edging away from the crate, all the while pointing his blaster at it.

"Sir, there's something making noise in that crate."

Sholtz' annoyed face immediately gave way to concern.

"Keep your blaster on it. Donard, open it. Be prepared."

Donard, a well built man dressed in a relatively well to do suit, was not known for his intellect. Although born to a family of doctors, he was soon found to excel in brawn instead of brain.
At the prospect of opening the crate Donard seemed non-pulsed. He didn't see what harm whatever it is inside could do, it wasn't moving before so it must be dead.

Placing his hands on either end of the smooth top of the crate, he found the handles. Grunting with effort, he managed to pull the top off, cracking the crate in the process as he forgot to use the handles.
With the top off, Donard peered into the crate, only to see a pale blue light shining back at him.

"Errr sir, it looks like there's a blue light and some metal. I think I can see what looks like an arm..sir is this a robo-"

Donard struggled to finish his sentence as his jaw was shattered by a metal claw, extended from the lithe form lifting itself out of the crate.
As Donard fell onto the ground, sobbing and cradling what was his jaw, the robot turned towards Scholtz and the low hum of an energy cannon charging could be heard.

"Mr Scholtz, I am afraid that you have voided our deal. In line with company policy, I will be removing all knowledgeable parties involved.

Scholtz stood and stared at the robot. He had heard that Sirius Robotics had remote uplinks for most of their robots but he didn't think they would be active unless the robot was activated already.
Although Scholtz stood thinking, his bodyguard finally returned to his senses, pointed the till now forgotten blaster at the robot and fired a round straight at its abdomen, only to leave a small dent in the metal and a lot of smoke in the air.

In response, the robot lurched towards the bodyguard and grabbed his hand and blaster in its claw. It stood staring at Scholtz as it tightened its grip, crushing both blaster and bone alike with the bodyguard mewling in pain.

"I would suggest you don't move Mr Scholtz, it will lessen the pain"

The robot lifted its left arm and pointed its dual energy cannon at Scholtz. The low hum had turned into a high pitched whine as the cannon rested fully charged.
Staring down the barrel, Scholtz' last moments were of a pure blinding light, a scorching pain and a quiet roar as the cannon discharged.
Once the smoke had cleared enough to see, anyone looking would have seen very little of Scholtz and his bodyguard, or the corridor that they had stood in.
Instead there was a gaping hole in the side of a room, now extended into what use to be the corridor.
Standing in the midst of the twisted metal and wafting smoke was the newest of Sirius Robotics creations, the I-1.

Several corridors away and one floor above, Ijin allowed himself a smile. Although he didn't like this part of the job, he also didn't like almost being killed.
Sitting in a maintenance room, he pulled the uplink away from his face and recounted the events in his head.
Only two left.
