The Fall of Bonn

Jake Hudson'€™s bunk was more of a converted storage closet. It was closer to the flight deck and was far enough away from the main cabins so he could get some quite after a night of station bar hopping. He heard the alarm of his clock blaring off in a resounding echo in his small bunk. The Bonn station was a fantastic spot for every after flight mission. He could land with cheaper docking fees, go to the all night bar, and they had a fantastic karaoke stand. The one thing he hated were the consistent station security warning that alerted every deck. Most came and went in minutes, others, someone was freaking out for a passing pirate ship. He reacted to the alarm clock, tossing it against the wall, but the near deafening klaxon continued to sound off. Opening one eye to see the text messaging system overloaded with communiques from other freelancers and Marshal in particular. He managed to reach his hand over, shutting the communication screen face down and slowly managed to turn and sit up in the small bed. His hair was relatively unkempt and his West Point uniform needed a lot more than a good washing.

The station alarm was ever present. The combination of a late night at the bar, a hangover and morning breath didn'€™t help his state of mind. Managing to make it to the door, his hand slumped over the locking controls to swing open to a Rheinland military officer pointing a gun at him. His hand held against the door frame as he sucked through his teeth, moving his tongue to get a piece of food out between his molars. Blinking a few times until the safety off light was clearly seen on the edge of the gun. Trying to look at the eyes of the military officer through his helmet visor, his head swayed a bit as gave a perplexed look.
