Unfortunately for Voss he didn't see the man in the shadows, instead he holstered the pistol after his check and than reached to his utility belt and unhooked his stun baton, normally used by the Rheinland Federal Police and gave an experimental swing, getting a feel for the weight distribution.

Linking his helmet's comm-link to Fredrick's own he performed a radio check.

"Krieg Schwein, this is Hansel, what is your status, over?"

He must not know I am here.

Moving behind the unaware soldier, he drew his sidearm and aimed for the powercell on the back, hoping his pea shooter would be able to penetrate and deactivate the armor. If not, his attempt would be very short lived.

He aimed, and fired. The first shot missed, glancing off the soldiers arm. Correcting, Jack fired, hitting his target. He hoped that the plasma bolt had penetrated the power cell and deactivated the powered element of the armored suit. His plan relied on that.
