It actually goes to show that the salary cap put in place after the strike is having it's intended effect, leveling the playing field and allowing small market teams like St. Louis and Nashville to have a chance to go deep. Plus it makes the game so much more exciting when it isnt Colorado, Detroit and Pittsburgh every year (No offense Baco Bits, <3 U!)

But the Flyers have the highest payroll in the NHL right now.:P

But nah I get what you mean. There was an interview with the owner of the Wings and Tigers the other day about how he's shelling out basically a billion dollars to bring most of the stars to the Tigers so he can win a World Series before he dies. It was really odd to read and I like the NHL's system a lot better, even if it's harder for us to win without our pizza mogul buying everyone out.

I didn't expect the Senators to win the series, but seeing it go to 7 and seeing every game hard-fought within 1 point shows how tight the playing field really is. No one in Ottawa is mad over being eliminated in the first round, surprisingly. The team is building back up in the right direction with veteran leadership and hard-working young talent and hopefully a consistently good goalie in Anderson.

Also, Tortorella's job was totally on the line if Ottawa won, so there's that.:P

Like the Wings last year against San Jose: nothing to be ashamed of, everything to be disappointed about.;)
