Basically it is same thing that happened with HF, and Junkers. Congress told HF go frack themselves, so all Junkers are now hunted.
This is reverse. The indies said frack it, and the Official faction was drawn in.
Basically RM and BDM got bored not being able to hurt the Liberty players, or Hessiens players, so they decided to pick on and trade corp. Sad really, but admins are backing them so what can we do.

To be fair, the IC ID is the new zoner ID.
Instead of pods of Zoner Whales roaming the tradelanes of Sirus, filling the comm channels of every system with their majestic mating call of "Zoner u no can pirate lol", we now have Interspace Commerce Storks and Mastodons silently powertrading, their fingers constantly hovering on the F1 button, FlCompanion guiding their every move, paying no heed nor brooking hinderance from the laws of the four Houses.

What could IC| have done, save throw their independents to the sharks? You left them no choice but a choice that isn't a choice at all.
There is nothing they could have done.
No tool at their disposal.
No faction right with which to beat some sense into those powersmuggling fools.
For once, Ryoken is, in fact, dead wrong; Interspace Commerce was completely and utterly powerless against the foul hordes of "u rus"ing, rule-breaking, embargo-ignoring, foul-mouthed ignorant and incompetent players completely ruining their reputation, ruining their roleplay, ruining their chances to gain, their opprotunities; the very same players they were charged with protecting were the players they ultimately needed protection from.
And what did the Rheinland players do?
Sympathize? Understand the plight of IC|, and perhaps bring in a little bit of fairplay?
No, instead they chose to stick blindly, unquestioningly, unswervingly to their roleplay, and chose to impose sanctions on those who had done nothing wrong.
They chose to stick the official faction in a hard place and then threaten them with a rock.
