Perhaps you should take off your 'I don't know what the hell I am talking about' goggles. If you did so, you'd notice that the official faction didn't mess anything up, the independent folks are the root of the problem.

You'd notice that the official faction took up for the independent folk, even when it wasn't in their best interests to do so.

So again, IC| messed up.
They took responsibility for someone else's actions, when it was not in their best interests to do so, like you just said.
The result of that is a giant ****storm.
