Gallics + Mollys

This "RP" NAP is pretty much BS, and opposite the RP set down for 4.86.

Actually, it's not.

There were three possible scenarios and this is the one that was successful. This was not done overnight, but has been the process of months of hard work, and was done fully with the written lore of .86 in mind. Those three options were: an armistice with Bretonia; a NAP with Gallia; or neither and shoot both. The Mollys have been willing to do either of the three.

Here's a lore statement:

The Mollys are in the process of entering negotiations with the Bretonian government about a possible armistace.

That was done. Two previous leaders of the Molly faction had discussed the possibility of an armistice. Those discussions ended with neither side really interested in the idea. From the time I became 2IC and through the time I became faction lead we entered into a long, detailed and often heated discussion with Bretonia. Bretonia walked out on the talks, thus ending an armistice. The lore states that discussion is made concerning a possible armistice, it does not state that one was achieved.

Furthermore, from the lore we have:

Mollys are now facing a Corsair threat which could easily mean the end of existence for the faction, much like what the looming Gallic invasion could become for Bretonia.

The Molly primary concern is the Corsairs, not Gallia. However, to be properly inRP, the Mollys could not mount an offense/defense against the Corsairs with both Bretonia and Gallia at its back. Thus, the NAP secures the rear from attack so that the Mollys can concentrate on the Corsairs as they are supposed to.

Further, the inRP resources and lives that the Mollys would spend fighting Gallia can instead be directed toward the Corsairs and defenses built up in Dublin.


More lore notes:

The remote Jump Hole from Omega-50 to Poole became unstable and collapsed, leaving Dublin and Londonderry as the only way for the Corsairs to reach Bretonia from Omega-49. However, the Mollys, Red Hessians and SCRA are preparing a united offensive against the Corsairs in the system.

With the rear flank secured by the non-agression agreement, the Mollys can continue with its plans for working with its allies versus the Corsairs.

Thus, lore has been followed. Had Bretonia not walked out on armistice talks there might have been a Molly/Bretonia treaty in February after weeks and weeks of discussion. Had Gallia declined a NAP, Mollys would have ended up having to shoot all three enemies. Each of those options would have been within lore.

Additionally, there was nearly two years of in game RP and cooperation between Mollys and Gallia factions including IDF, GMS, and sometimes EFL for Dublin ore and Molly smugglers carrying goods to Gallia. This is long term in game experiences which made discussion of a NAP with Gallia possible.

As stated previously, this isn't an overnight decision just because you were not a part of it. It has been a long and arduous path that has come to this point. There's still more to come yet depending on how the role play goes. Just remember, it may not be your interpretation of how you'd like the lore to go, but what is done is still within the lore as it was written.
