Don't get me wrong, it -can- be enjoyable, but you need to go in with the attitude of "I'm going to serve" not "I'm going to have fun." Cause the fun comes far and few in-between the other stuff.

This raises another good point. In the fire service, what most people saw as fun came few and far between to us. If it had come more often, I probably would have gotten sick of the job real fast.
