Akira used ahort, controlled bursts from his Raptor, downing hostile after hostile. His face was hidden from view, and under the mask was his determined face. He took little notice of Dave's words, opting to cover the squad as Dave did his Shepard impression. Akira allowed himself a breather, the resumed firing. He glanced over at Jonathan, then fired, taking out a mutant at his flank. Neumann was doing his best, and right now, Akira wished the Kusanagi was close.
Yeah sis, never around to save me. Always my job to save you. Can't return the favor, can ya.
Akira depressed the trigger and unloaded the rest of his clip and reloaded.
"Todokha."
I know. Doing my best.
"Not fast enough."
I am not a miracle worker
"Coulda fooled me."
Akira ejected the spent clip. "Synk, we don't have unlimited ammo you know."
