*A near empty Le Baron settled Vulpe as he held his glass, the mellow tune keeping him calm despite all the problems facing him in his position of power. A slight sigh escapes his worn muzzle as the sound of clatter sounded near the stage, giving an ear full turn in the direction. His head turned slightly as he noticed a new band manning the stage, making assorted chatter and rough tunes from their instruments. After several minutes of light practice, Vulpe returned to his drink, pausing the moment as he heard the light twang of a guitar, and the sounding of vocals*

~Nature nurture heaven and home ~ Sum of all and by them driven ~ To conquer every mountain shown ~ But I've never crossed the river ~....~ Brave the forest, brave the stone ~ Brave the icy winds and fire ~ Braved and beat them on my own ~ Yet I'm helpless by the river~

*Vulpe's body slowly turned as his attention turned towards the music, its deep melody seeming to open a wound within his soul, the pressure and tension within his short life so far that was brought to him*

*Vulpe began to feel a tug within his heart as his mind began to race, scenes of his first views into life...His relentless training...The pains of failure from his master du Sable...His praise upon his first kill*

~Pay no mind to the battles you've won ~ It'll take a lot more than rage and muscle ~ Open your heart and hands my son ~ Or you'll never make it over the river ~....~ It'll take a lot more than words and guns ~ A whole lot more than riches and muscle ~ The hands of many must join as one ~ And together we'll cross the river~

*His mind shifted to other events...The meeting of his other self in Sirius...His first feelings of compassion to another person...The death of his fellow comrades at Djion...His bleeding paws as he swore an oath to his motionless lord laying in his coma*

~It'll take a lot more than words and guns ~ A whole lot more than riches and muscle ~ The hands of many must join as one ~ And together we'll cross the river*

*A deep sigh escaped his lips as his body reacted to the slowly fading tune of the band, his head beginning to droop as his eyes closed for a moment...and a tear fell from his face, clenching his drink a little tighter ontop of the bar*
