Cannon, in all good faith I cannot approve of this action. To put all storyline development in the hands of one man, considering the nature of faction politics and player roleplay in Discovery, is a grave mistake.

He leads the collective effort to write the story. Player and especially faction input is taken into consideration. For instance: "BHG Core scale up their operations in Delta, making an effort to drive out the Corsairs from Yaren and establish themselves on the moon it orbits" could be elaborated on. Something akin to this is already being played out in forum RP. Another idea: "Bretonia, strapped for locations to relocate the Leeds populace to, is forced to open up the heavily restricted planet of Sprague. Several old archeological base camps are being converted into temporary or permanent settlements, and the docking ring, destroyed in the Nomad war, is being repaired. How Rheinland, the Hessians and the Corsairs will react to this expansion of the Crown's domain is as of yet unknown."
These are two examples that came out of player input and are likely going to make it into 4.87 - If you have any ideas of your own, or feel yourself a good storywriter, why not apply to the devteam?

The Mod development cycle has, in general, been too static and dependent on input from a single individual.

Not entirely true, but a few key people not finishing up stuff is what delayed 4.86 for ages - finding Gallia in a half-finished state, then having to rush to finish it was a timeconsuming task. This is a misstake that won't be repeated.
