With some keyboards...Like my old one, it was built in. I could program it in the keyboard.
I have a crappy one now...But still...
It makes you shake like crazy when someone is firing with a macro, but it didn't effect my performance.
This is how I see it... A: If you concentrate. It doesn't do any more then shake you up when you do get hit, by a guy using weapon groupings and shooting like that.
B: It doesn't effect aiming its just a shaking effect representing a hit on your HUD...to my knowledge anyway.
C: It doesn't effect server performance, modify client or server side files relating to game-play in any way.
D: It doesn't Access server files without permission by the server administrator or user. (so it can't be considered hacking)
E: All it does is set timing....if you make it really fast....it doesn't work, so you can only make it go as fast as your guns will fire, and as long as you have enough energy to fire them...Battleship weaponry fires slow, so they won't be able to go that fast, unless high fire-rate weaponry is on there. It just looks fast otherwise, and because of that, it puts fear in the opponent reducing concentration causing mistakes resulting in death. If the player can over-come the fear, then he has a higher chance of winning, because the concentration is still there.
F: It doesn't effect how your energy is spent, the energy output would be the same as it would firing the grouped weaponry all together, all it does is evenly spread the load. And you end up with the same amount of energy in the end anyway. Regardless of re-fire rate, as the lower energy high speed re-fire uses up the same if not more energy in the long run because of that reason.
G: It doesn't inflict more damage to the opponents shield, hull, weaponry or other ship components in any way.
Also, if you pretend that every other player has a macro and your prepared for the possibility that your opponent has a macro built in. Then there is a higher chance you will win as your awareness is much higher then it would usually be. Even adjusting your chair or keyboard position on the desk can make a different. A lot of people don't know this. But in the long run, you can concentrate much better.
I don't know about you guys, but every time I go into PvP I still shake like there is no tomorrow. This is bad. But making myself prepared for what the enemy might have, makes me more aware of what I have to do, dodge, shoot or run from him.
Its not the macro, its the ship, the player behind the controls and the effectiveness of the ships set-up. The skilled players know all your moves in advanced. So of course your going to loose. The skilled players also know this and how to use their weapons quick and effectively as well. Also reducing your chances of winning.
If you practice a little you will win more. Marco's do nothing if you have the right attitude towards the fight in my opinion.
But then again...I have been wrong before.
