Despite this war. Despite the uncertainty of her future and despite the treatment she was getting for being in a male's universe. Despite all the hatred around her;
When others were struggling with the pressure caused by this merciless war, Junko was enjoying to serve in Seto system.

Mostly because of him.
Hanawa Noboru. Well.... Kaigun Chusa Hanawa.

He was different from the others men she came to know.
Even-tempered and sticking to good sense, he was pretty much the beacon she would hang on when things were getting difficult.

Hanawa seemed to have mastered the difficult skill of hiding his emotions, which probably was why she liked him.
But at times, she could have sworn she did see past that carapace, discovering a charming man struggling with his feelings and - she was sure of that! - quite liking her.

Every day, as Bretonians and Kusarians all together were dying, her heart was slowly turning towards him.
Junko came to smile more often, To even be what one could label as cheerful, a mindset she rarely displayed and that she would almost forget in the future.

"You wanted to see me, Hanawa-san?" she asked after saluting him.
"Hai." Replied the Chusa, studying her shortly before gesturing her to sit in front of his small desk.

As usual, it was difficult to say what he had in mind.
Junko smiled softly, wondering if he was about to admit he desperately fell in love with her.

As she was sort of day dreaming, Hanawa cleared his throat and, studying slowly a file after having opened it, stated casually :
"I heard quite some troubling things lately, Sanada-san."

Her heart skipped a bit and, fighting the panic that was growing inside her, could only mutter
"You..."
"Hai. I don't exactly understand what made you think we wouldn't find out sooner or later." he simply said, appearing to skim through the file.

As she wasn't saying anything, he raised his head and, gazing at her, asked
"So... Maybe you could explain me why a member of one of the most influential clan of New Tokyo used a false id to join the Naval Forces?"

"I.. Hm."
Junko was attempting to find something smart to tell, but she was for once stumped as she noticed how disappointed he seemed to be.
"Well? What you did is a crime, Fujiko; Or Junko if you prefer. You could be court marshalled for it, and locked up so that you will never see the sun again."

"I did that to serve the Empe..." she started.
"Please don't waste my time. I'm not buying that."
Sighing, she finally said :
"Hanawa-san... Please forgive me.. But i needed to leave New Tokyo."
