- no docking
- removal of weapons
- no cruise ( but increase the impulse to 50ms - hell, thats slow enough )
- spin fix would be awesome, but if we had it, it wouldn t only be applied to the barge eh?
- no drift ( very important )
the above is what could happen ....
below is what i d rather like to see:
- remove the barge ( no reimbursement - cause lets face it, whenever we took away a ship, we never payed anyone anything )
- give PLAYERS the OPTION to build a "barge" model instead of the usual "custom playerbase" ( so its mostly cosmetic instead of a playerbase )
- the barge would come with an automatic high storage capacity and wouldn t be able to build sophisticated manufacturing modules ( no cloak / jumpdrive factories )
- the barge should have a different shield bubble ( cause i m not sure how good it looks when you have a bubble twice the size of a sun )
- the barge option instead of a normal POB should only be available to PURE mining factions ( IMG, BMM and wahtever i forgot there ) - but not insurence, trade or military factions, pirates or civilians.
the result would be barges that were used pretty much as the original barge was meant to be used like. - depending on how many there were made - admins might agree to even "move" them via the .beam console command on factions request - so they would be semi mobile. - but since mining fields don t really deplete ( not permanently anyway ) - there is no need to move a ship away.
of course - something like that would never be done.
