Disturbing news James,

While conducting my pre-flight inspections for the test today I discovered a saboteur in the communications hub. He was caught in the act of attaching a transmitter that would have broadcast our ship's location to whoever had the right frequency. If he'd have succeeded it's very unlikely we'd have detected it as it would be in sync with our own transmissions. In effect we'd have been giving ourselves away each time we communicated with anyone.

We're working on finding who he's working for and what all he's done to our ship, but as we have no way of knowing how long he'd had access to her and what mischief he may have been up to we're having a full security sweep conducted from stem to stern. If he had any accomplices we'll find them.

To ensure our systems haven't been compromised we are running a full set of diagnostics on both primary and secondary functions. I hate the delay, but until we know what all is at work here we don't dare risk taking her out before we're sure any tamperin's been done is corrected.

I know you have your hands full with coordinating the defense plans so I assure you I'll get to the bottom of this for us. The scans will only put us back a few hours. Pending unforseen circumstances I see us takin her for a test run later today.
