Despite all her efforts to not return in core space, she would soon enough contemplate again New Tokyo's sky.

Dreading what was waiting her there, the young officer indeed refused all the permissions she was granted.
She was just hanging on her duty as a shipwrecked would on his buoy, waiting for the sea to die down.

No mission was insignificant or dangerous enough for her to not volunteer, nor was any foe dangerous enough for her to consider retreating without being ordered to.
Later, she would admit she was perhaps seeking death and the depths of oblivion coming with it.

Yet fate decided otherwise.

"The pollution levels of this place make me feel sick. Another sin to add to the list those foreigners already perpetrated. Make no mistakes my brothers, those we are facing are weak. We are here to save them from their ignorance; To bring light to their pathetic barbarian lives."

The one speaking on the local tactical frequency was the Daii Yoshida whose natural volubility earned him the nickname 'Akuso'. He was relatively new in the Ittan-momen wing and obviously did everything he could to get recognition from others.

An attitude that could only annoy Junko. Especially because inferiors like her weren't even worth a modicum of his attention.
The others were remaining silent, apparently passively listening to the sermon. But she knew better.

Okamoto and Kinos-hita were certainly sharing the node seven she was detecting as busy; The false twins, as people used to call them.
She appreciated them for their kindness and their good-companionship.
Among all the members of the wing, they were the ones who always tried to make her feel integrated. Even if out loud she was saying calling them annoying and stupid, she was grateful for those efforts.

She knew Ueno was checking his scan, focusing on his revenge oath and cold headedly waiting for a target to exercise it.
She could relate to that wish.

And about the Chusa...
She long ago gave up trying to get what was in Nishina's head. He could just be a robot for all she knew.

Sighing quickly, she finally emitted in a bored way
"Yoshida, are you trying to put us to sleep with your 'Oh so boring' speeches? Because i swear it's almost working."
The quick silence on the frequency gave her an idea about how annoyed the 'boy' was by that interruption. Still... His answer definitely confirmed it.
"It isn't my fault if you women are too stupid to juggle with sophisticated ideas while flying a vessel to battle. You should do yourself a favour and come back to the place you belong to. A house where you would please the man stupid enough to marry you!"

The woman laughed boldly at that tirade.
"Oh that's pretty nice. Did you rehearse this all yesterday night? I'm quite impressed."
Some mumbling could be heard, followed by a "Stupid woman". As he was about to carry on, she interrupted him abruptly on the frequency.
"I'm not stupid. I'm smarter than you, actually. And stronger too. By the way... Is your nose still bleeding, A...Ku...So...Kun?"

Some laughes could be heard on the frequency, the others men obviously remembering about that evening, when Yoshida accepted to face her after she mocked him.
He thought he would teach easily to that skinny woman where was her place...

As Yoshida was starting to become heated, a muffled grunt could be heard.
"Enough you two."

Junko tilted her head and focused on her instruments, pouting slightly.
Looked like the party was over.
