Matok and Chara sat at a table, discussing the matter of a new "Freeport" right next to there own. Matok was concerned considering he knew what happened of the old one. They talked over drinks and dinner. Matok had a dish of grilled nomad while Chara chose a tender cut of steak and potato.
"I just remember the end of the old Freeport 11," stated Matok, "Kusari claimed it was built in there space without permission. Now it is built within our no fire zone."
"Well," Chara stated, "it is now in the so called neutral zone so it won't be an issue of territory."
"Nnnoo," dragged Matok, taking a bite of his Nomad, "I do not dispute that. What I worry about is if either the Royals or Kusari make an issue of it. I mean, we are right there. Do we work with the owner? Do we protect him?"
Blaine thought a moment before answering, "treat him like any other Zoner. Lay out your guidelines. No cardi, no slaves, no capital ships and no instigating. Isn't that what has left us at relative peace, even if we would like to see the Royals dive 3 times and come up twice?"
Matok laughed at the statement. "Very true, Blaine, very true. That would make sense. Let us monitor it for awhile and see what happens. We shall play it by ear."
"Very well," replied Blaine. After a pause, he asked, "By the way, any word from Fyre?"
Matok only shook his head, obviously upset. He only remarked, "maybe I was destined to be single and without heirs."
Chara smiled a bit, "I have no problem with being that way myself." He again paused before saying, "I will say this though, Fyre had a body on her that wouldn't quit."
"And how much better it was with her mark," he added. The two men toasted and finished their meals.
