++ Interlude : Present days ++

Four before noon.

A man was peacefully sleeping in his bed.
If an observer was there to take a peek at the half smile on his face, would he thus be able to tell what were his dreams about?

Was he contemplating the waves of Honshu's ocean?
Or perhaps the young man was fighting in Kayo's cloud?

But... Was he even dreaming?
What if he was just enjoying that serenity preceding sunrise?

No matter what, it was about to end in a horrible and unbearable way, however...

Since a few minutes indeed, some noise could be heard in the apartment.
Yet, more was needed to trouble our noble hero's sleep.

He didn't deign noticing the running noises, nor did he mind the calls that soon followed.
Even when the creature jumped on the bed to silently walk towards him, the man didn't move.

The horrible creature stopped near his face, seemingly busy contemplating him with severity.
Finally, a paw approached his face and tapped on his nose several times, making him nod in his sleep to get away.

"Meow" said the cat, noticing it wasn't quite effective.

He sat near the man's face, purring while looking around.
How evil he was! His tail was waving around, tickling the poor man's face.

Eventually, the latter sneezed and, after finally noticing the cat, fell his head back on the pillow, rubbing his palm on his face.
"Ow.... Stupid cat." said the man, in a sleepy voice.
"Meow" replied the cat, gazing at him with severity once again.

Well... Now he was awaken, it was time to get down to business.

"I'm hungry." was he saying.
But that stupid human didn't understand. He wasn't even leaving the bed.

Trying to ignore him? Wasn't going to work, food dispenser!
Using a trick that was remarkably effective, he used his paw to tap ceaselessly on the man's skin.

And if the message wasn't coming through... Well... It was time to subtly make the claws come out.

Eventually he gave up and got up to feed him.


Mission accomplished.

Once his stomach was filled, he came back to the bed and rolled into a ball right near the man, who sighed after caressing him a couple of times.
"Yes yes... I hate you too."
He answered with a soundful purr while rolling on himself.
