Our first experience outside of Vespucci in many long months. We entered the Leeds system from whence we came and found that much has changed. Our computer archives had no reference to the Gallic invasion of Leeds until we passed nearby the planet.. Evidently the system was coded as being part of the Bretonian Kusarians- Exiles, they called themselves. Perhaps when the ship was registered as missing, it was put on a list of ships that were no longer recognized as official Kusari Naval Forces. Whatever the cause, the end result is the same: the Exiles believed we were one of them at first.. And when they realized we were not, they demanded we declare our intentions. We responded with the truth.



They had not heard of the ExMortis- as expected. They then told us to declare our intent: To which I lied.



The reason why had not been converted on the spot is because there were several of them.



A destroyer, gunboat and several fighters.. We accused us of trapezing across their territory with consequence- we pointed out that they held the upper hand.



They then wished to know why our computer identified us as Exiles- we explained that our computers had not yet disconnected the identification signal.




Luckily, the commanding Exile released us with a harsh warning:



When we have gathered more strength, perhaps we shall come back. But for now we must stick to sparsely populated Edge Worlds. The Gallics seem to be a force of reckoning and will be avoided at all costs. We scarcely avoided death today, but I have confidence in our ability to survive. We always have.
