Another risky mission in a war she honsestly stopped to follow.
Just a good occasion to release that repressed anger while avenging the lost ones.

That particular one yet promised to be incredibly boring. Just some escort to a pretendedly vital Bretonian supplying station.

At a loose end, she opened the mission briefing again to compulse the file on her Chimaera's little screen.
Right. The probability to meet resistance was stated as "very low". How boring. They would just have the pleasure to watch those ugly bombers do all the job.
Why were they even chosen for such a baby sitting? Generally, Ittan-momen was assigned to much funnier missions.

Ah well, not like she could do anything about it anyway. Nodding her head gently in a bored way, she concentrated on her scan until she heard the classical :
"Objective spotted. Closing in."

"Wish us good luck." emited one of the Umibozu, quickly followed by an ironical "Hai. Good luck my beloved sumos."

"We will assume a defensive pattern to cover your back, hyaku wing." grunted the Chusa, abrubtly cutting in half the informal jokes that were about to follow.
"Hai. We won't be long."

"On your left! Break! B.."
A scream abrutly cut in half was the only thing Okamoto emitted when his vessel turned into a nice fireball.
"Regroup and cover each other" mumbled the Chusa, obviously even less pleased than usual - if such a thing was possible.

Unequal, the struggle was almost already over. Those Bretonians were skilled at setting up traps, she had to admit.

Junko gazed shortly at the little debris fields, the only remains of the fighter. One more to have the pleasure to meet his ancestors.
Not like she planned to weep buckets about that, however.

This moment of inattention cost her her ship. She only was able to eject when two fighters hunted her without mercy.
Helpless, she then could only follow the fight, seeing the others being downed one by one.
