In the background faint beeping sounds are heard. Engines humming pleasantly. A flashlight suddenly passes the holo-camera temporarily blinding you, but when your sight appears again you see a blond man with blue eyes looking around the room he's in. It seems almost like the cargo-bay of a battletransport.
Hi there. The name's Joe Heart. I'm a former small time transport captain, self-proclaimed terrorist and lover of the stars. And here's my present to you.
He changes the angle of the holo-camera, pointing it down to his feet. There's a box, easily carryable by one man, with a holo-pad connected to it. The numbers displayed on the pad are counting down, currently being at 04:13:16. It strikes you this is a bomb. A crude bomb, perhaps not quality like, but effective nontheless. The camera is pointed back on him.
I'm on a so-called Akegata. The Kusari transport. Flying under the command of this... He spits on the ground. Piece of *corrupted*. Two days ago I worked on a bar on 'hattan. This here captain flying this "foreign" vessel came inside with his crew and started going all elitist like on my behind. Now, my behind is not made for that kind of behaviour. Especially coming off from those folks who steal anything. My jobs all got taken from me due to their actions. I mean, me, working in a bar. With the knowledge I can blow these sons-of-*corrupted* anytime, anywhere. So, after having smashed in the teeth of the captain with my serving tray, kicking the communications officer in the nutsack, made him loose one nut by the way, and knocking out the FO I fled to someone I knew and arranged some pieces of equipment.
He looks down. And starts to smile. He grabs the camera and starts walking towards a gaping hole in the hull. He enters it and puts the camera showing his back working on closing the hull.
Now, I know some tricks. My dad taught me them. Bless him. The life-pod I'm in has a simple steering device attached to it. No energy on this life-pod as to mask my presence. Folks hardly tend to look out their cockpits anyway. The entrance has a ring who can be magnetized. As soon as I steer in the right position I turn it on and it locks. Allowing me to create a hole, enter, dump the present and get out.
A faint clunck is heard. Joe pressed a few buttons on a portable control panel. He grabs the camera and looks into it. There's some kind of pain in those eyes.
Please. Let me become part of the Alliance. I know I can, and will do, better.
A sudden bright flash makes Joe squint his eyes, he turns the camera towards the tradelane connecting the NY JG to planet Denver. You see the Akegata blowing up in 3 more smaller explosions. Nothing but debry is floating about.
I know this was a start. I got plenty more where that came from.
He looks saddended.
It's time to pick up the tempo. It's time to make them pay. What they did to me, they will receive tenfold back.
He starts to laugh, with one tear going down his right cheek.
