I think they'd be wanting to buy Omicron Zeta. Both the old Zoner factions currently hold unique IDs as well. Makes me wonder if the Zoner official slot is actually open or not. That needs clarifying.

Yes Omicron Zeta, althoughin no rush to make changes to the system.
Devs have already worked hard changing it and I think those changes should be very interesting so the reasons for wanting Zeta is not to try change anything just yet.

Its very hard to get your own ID, you need to have been an official zoner faction for a while to get it. IMO you're far better off putting in an app and fighting Pheonix for the open spot then hoping you'll get your own ID anytime soon. Otherwise you'll be waiting until Pheonix dies or gets their own ID.

Well... We have time... It is my opinion that good manners and patience are both virtues perhaps they will pay off one-day.
If at all possible I would wish to skip "taking the Zoner ID" even if that just means being unofficial for a lot longer our people would in no way represent "true" Zoner RP/their people we have already changed too much. Although tbh I think the only change between a Zoner ID and an Obsidian ID would literally be the name.

I dont get it, whats the point of "Buying" a system?

Presumably to show an effort has been made and there is sufficient sacrifice to show that you care enough to be given one... when those rules where written player bases hadn't yet existed and thus it wasn't as easy to develop your own system through RP and in-game mechanics, now it is much easier.
