Patrick went straight to the launch pad, to find any pilot that would take him to a used-ship dealer. It did not take that long as Patrick expected, while he was talking to random pilots, a junker pilot walked towards him and tapped him on the shoulder.

Junker: Oi, boyo, I hear you want to get your hands on a second hand ship, do you know what you want to get your hands on?
Patrick: Well....no not really... I know I want a freighter or transport, but apart from that, I have no clue. Maybe you can help me decide, I have 60,000 credits to spend on a safe ship.
Junker: Well boyo, we might have something you’d like back on Rochester base, you’re welcome to hop aboard my CSV and go see for yourself.
Patrick: Great, thanks, I’m ready if you are.

Several hours later, Rochester Base, New York system

Shipdealer: Right, Mr. Poole is it, you want a second hand freighter or transport. Well, here is what I have *opens hangar doors* take a look and tell me if you find something you like.
Patrick: *Gasp* That are some mighty fine ships you have there sir, hmm let me take a look.

He walks around a bit, checking out all the ships in the hangar, some look brand new, while others clearly have been damaged by some sort of weapon. Suddenly Patrick stopped in front of a Liberty Rhino freighter, it looked like it was used, but was still in good shape.

Patrick: How about this one? What does this one cost me? And if I take this one, can you upgrade it with some decent shields, some defensive weapons and maybe some extra reinforcements on the armour?
Shipdealer: Well, I can put some new shields on this one, the guns and turrets that are on it, are the best you can get for that Rhino and armour... Well I might be able to reinforce it, but I doubt it would be worth the credits. So all in all, I can get it ready for you, for say... 45,000 SC.
Patrick: That sounds great, but 45,000 credits, can’t you take something off that price, or is it a fixed price?
Shipdealer: The best I can do for you is...say...43,500 and then you’re practically stealing from me.
Patrick: Well, alright, you got yourself a deal, if you put your crew to work, we can get a drink in the bar to celebrate the purchase of my first ship.
Shipdealer: Now that sounds like a great idea! Johnson, Peters, get that Rhino checked and ready to launch, put in a new transponder and replace the shield with one from our stock.. Let’s get to it Mr Poole, we got some liquor to drink!
