Ishikawa Hideaki

[Stuffz]

He awoke in a clean hospital room. Feeling incredibly weak he just managed to turn his head and look around the room.
The other beds were empty and unused. He was alone in the room. His head sunk back into the sheets and he stared up to the ceiling.
He had no memory of how he got there. His head was clouded and concentrating impossible. The drugs probably hadn't worn off yet.
He fell asleep once more.
An hour later he opened his eyes again. This time he immediately realised why he was in the hospital. His memory of that night was still fogged but he remembered the crash now.
A nurse entered the room to check his condition. A few quick questions and hesitant answers.
He had been unconscious for three days. He had been quite lucky. Others hadn't.
He was left alone again.

It was his fault. Without doubt. And there's nothing he could do about it. He still couldn't quite believe it.
Why had he been that stupid? So full of himself?
Some time later Mariko entered the room. She walked over to his bed and looked at him with no emotion showing on her face.
He smiled and looked up to her. "Mariko.. I'm glad you're alive." She didn't answer and moved to the single window of the room.
She looked outside for a while before talking.
"I won't forgive you for this one." Her voice was cold and distant. "You killed them. You knew you were in no condition to fly." Unable to say anything he just watched her standing at the window.
"But don't worry, your father fixed everything for you." She said full of disdain. "You won't have to fear any consequences. As always."
She turned away from the window and started walking towards the door. "I suppose we won't see each other again."
"Wait! It's my fault, yes, I know that as well." He quickly said. "There's really nothing left to say."
She left the room and closed the door behind her.

"I'm sorry." He said to the empty room.
