Just finished recalibrating the cruise engines this morning, the old girl should run like a dream now, no more bone shaking on the charge up. Still getting an uneven burn from the thruster though, damned if I know what's wrong with it, the thing is brand new. Anyway she'll be spaceworthy once more, about time too the Libertonians and Rheinlanders have been smashing the living daylights out of each other. 'Course the clean up is left to us after they've stripped the good stuff off weapons, drive core and the like. Saying that the alloys alone are worth a couple of credits and a fair bit more for superconductors if you're lucky.
Kruezberg's pretty quite compared to Rotchester, less nutjobs here, less drugs too thankfully those cardi freaks give me the hebejebes. *Shudder*
I can't talk though after having that fling with an Outcast girl a fair few years back, she was quite something, dark hair, green eyes and all the body a man could want. Heh she couldn't handle me with that breather on so we had to take it to her ship. Guess that was my first drug trip but hell it was worth it, we burnt out the dampeners that night...Her Sabre couldn't handle the rocking ha!

…
Err where was I?
…

Oh yeah, we had some yahoo in the bay when I was working on the cruise, banging on about wanting to sell a bona fide piece of tradelane tech, fella' wanted two mill for it. Two mill for a hunk of metal the size of a datapad, no one paid a damn bit of attention to him 'cept me. I offered to take a look at it, had my microscope all set up and ready, showed him my degree in metallurgical engineering too. The Bretonian Engineering Corps College always impresses folks, bloody well better and all, I worked my fingers to the bone for that degree. Doubt that idiot could even spell metallurgical engineering.
Well I had a butchers at it, 'lo and behold right there on the laser cut edge was Ageira's logo and a product code to boot. Naturally I told the guy he'd been had, “nothing more than reactor casing” I said “give you two hundred for it.” He went off on one, saying he found it in a shot up tradelane section in Leeds and how certain he was that it was the genuine article. Never realised that it was worthless scrap that'd drifted in by chance.
He took the two hundred there and then, probably spent half of it getting hammered the damned fool. I'll need to get back to Trafalgar to have a decent look at it, my equipment there is far more advanced than my electron microscope. I've got to admit I'm pretty curious to see what this thing is, or was, knowing my luck it'll be a section of whitebox or chuck from one of their ships.

I can't believe it, some clown with a badge has arrested me for attempting to cross into Liberty with scrap. Has that boy been to New York? The damn system is seventy five percent scrap!
Bloody police, I refused to pay his fine, one million credits he wanted! One million, as if I'd be hauling scrap with that kind of scratch!
Idiots with badges honestly, police state my foot, moron state more like.
* Incoherent grumbling*
Now hes carting me off to Vierlande, I asked him if they have decent coffee. Bet that got right up his piggy little snout.
Prison for scrap, idiots the whole lot of 'em...
