Monk is right. When the lawfuls are not around, there is nothing to stop people from "violating" faction rules regarding independents.

This is why I think that it probably should be a server rule for Independents to register on the forums if they want any authority at all. Otherwise, you can have a bunch of independents running around, charging people random fines for crimes that they made up themselves.

Justing bringing up the example I brought up before. This LPI independent in NY tried to fine someone 500,000 Credits for the supposed crime of "Loitering" outside Planet Manhattan. There were no SA around, and his victim simply told him that he had no authority whatsoever.

Before your post, mb52, I was always in agreement with the fact that independents really do not need to be obeyed.

But then again, as Caylith so aptly put it once, we should not turn this modification into "Factionlancer." Independents should exist and be allowed to do their own thing, but there must be a way to regulate their actions.
