System Overview
Devoid of any resources or stellar objects other than its medium green sun and a Brigand freeport, Franche-Comte is one of two neighboring desolate backdoor systems. It offers safe space between Burgundy and Dauphine, as well as a comparably quiet route to Lorraine.
Besancon Freeport

Located in a central spot between the three known jumpholes, Besancon is the only installation in the system that can be used for resupplying. Run by Gallic Brigands, the desolate station houses several thousand people and seems to serve as a freeport for bypassing travellers. It might offer a good opportunity to improve relations with the Brigands - by establishing supply contracts, it might even serve as a transit point to bring Cardamine into Gallic trade.
