I've already attempted a cleaning of said HDD and it's a no go, can't get the files off the System Volume Information because you know you can't write to it and when you try to open the folder it denys you access.

To remove files, in this case virus', from your System Restore Volumes. You'll have to delete all your System Restore Points, which will remove the virus. I'm not sure if it's the best way to do it, but it's the only one I know of. So!

• 1. Right click on My Computer and hit Properties.
  
• 2. Click on the "System Restore" tab and check the box to turn off System Restore Points, and hit apply.
  
• 3. Turn System restore points back on, and create a new Restore Point (Just incase)
  

That will delete every restore point you have, including where the virus is. Make sure you make a new Restore Point afterwards, just incase you'll need it later. Enjoy.
