It had only been half an hour since Chloe had landed on Denver. She was able to deal with her ship without any problems (due to a large sum paid to a local dockmaster), then take a cab to the address Lambert gave her.
Stepping out of the taxi, she looked up at James' home. It was an interesting house, made mostly out of stone. Chloe meandered her way up the path and to the front door. She stretched out her arm, and rang the bell.
"You see what your knowledge tells you you're seeing. ... how, what you think the universe is, and how you react to that in everything you do, depends on what you know. And when that knowledge changes, for you, the universe changes. And that is as true for the whole of society as that is for the individual. We all are what we know, today. What we knew yesterday, was different; and so were we."
- James Burke, The Day the Universe Changed (1985)
