Pyriel Star was born aboard Java Station and lived there for the first fifteen years of his life, his brother Benarius Star was born five year after him. They spent the beginning of their life around the refineries and and machines of Java. Pyriel's only friends on Java was a droid named RMD-169 and his Dad Gereth Star, due to their being few children on board Java and his seemingly hostile disposition. Shortly after his 16th birthday his family received word that the Whetstone, the ship his father was assigned had gone missing after dispatching a mayday concerning Outcast. His mother factured into shambles and they moved to Manhattan at her whim just days after refugees started pouring into Java, calling them selves the Colonial Remenece. While the family had all the wealth needed to live a moderate life, their mother grew distant in her grief. RMD-169 took up the parental role to these children. Pyriel started to distance himself from peers his age and learned all he could about machines of all kinds dreaming of some way to rescue his dad. As well as learning that he somehow feared crowds and Manhattan was just too populated for him not to mention natrual gravity always seemed to bring him down. As he grew into adult hood he planned to start a career in space and to get back to the comforting void. After winning a science project that won him 60k worth of credits, Pyriel purchased two new star fliers for his brother and himself, they named them the Scornstar and Kholdern. He found that the stars were very dangerous and the only thing that helped him cope with his first engagements with rampaging xenos was the holo- games he played growing up with RMD and luck. His brother was not so lucky and was shot down by a Hacker gunboat, fortunately His pod was recovered by Pyriel and they docked at California minor where Benarius was placed in medical care. The Hackers were added to his list, with the Outcast still holding number one.

Having finally scraped a few credits together Scorn decided to join the navy for a term and increase his wealth while doing so. RMD a steady and now out dated droid has helped him make a home of his ship. They even found a way to integrate Pyriels energy refolding idea with RMDs help from the science fare into his ship, and enabled a form of "Space fold" ability to their ship. However they are still trying to work out bugs and seldom make use of it, due to test showing that while immense distance can be traveled it is unpredictable where it will put you and the star chart are unable to record your progress so now it is last ditch escape tactic. However in trying to control this seemingly unpredictable power modulation they have learned much about power integration and modification.

Towards the end of his term with the Liberty Navy, an otherwise mundane period of time he was able to upgrade his ship several times, and was in a Ravens Claw when approached by a merchant in need of escort known by MKultra. He flew with Mk for quite some time and Mk made him a slightly wealthy man, and head security consultant, Pyriel used his influence to get his brother signed on with a sizable sign on bonus. The trade routes ran from Cambridge to New Tokyo, to New Berlin, back to Cambridge. We only ever ever lost one load but was able to tractor in his employer before his pod was destroyed in the still very heated battle in progress around Gas Miner Naha. After that his employer rattled, paid him substantially and took a vacation to purchase a new ship and reclaim his nerve.

Pyriel now out of work and not wanting to return to the navy started exploring and taking odd jobs to supplement his account. In these random adventures, he learned of Java and the IMGs plight. He decided it was time to go home in his new Ravens Talon. He fought his private war with the Outcast and Hacker as convenient, but with greater focus on the Outcast as they stood in the way of finding his fathers whereabouts. RMD had been modified with a number of "questioning devices" during this time, but found nothing. Then one day while on a mundane mission he found the now antique wreckage of his fathers ship. The blaster marks and vacume preserved corpses told the tale all too clearly. Yet Pyriel had not expected his own reaction. Numbness, he felt nothing after looking and working towards this he felt nothing. He simply filed it away and decided the only logical response is to make all Outcast share this fate. Still he recovered the flight recorder and stowed it away.

The flight recorder was strangely scrambled. It had uncharacteristic energy dispersal signatures nothing like the known Outcast weapons, yet the hull clearly had Outcast energy residual signatures along with a different one. This information was compiled by RMD at Pyriel's request for latter cross-reference if needed. According to RMD as it cross referenced the signature against their entire flight recording archive. Something interesting was discovered. These signatures show in some places more than others. Latter they jointly developed a sort of detector for this energy, and in these travels they found the Nomads, The alien creatures that lurk in the Omicrons, with stronger energy technology than any House. In fact they seem to have ships composed of energy.

This eventually led him to his new ship, the IMG gunboat Scornstar, and later the Order. His new ship being large enough to stay for very extended times allowed him to venture in to Omicron minor. Once in contact with the Order they were impressed by his various knowledges in energy tech his detailed star charts. He found not one but several way to integrate nomad tech to human design, and a near flawless detection device, Not to mention the aid he provided often just on the way to Toledo. Upon approaching Toledo, Liberty vessels scanned and demanded the ALIEN tech on board some RMD and his very own designs. Not happening, and Pyriel tried to explain that it was not alien tech but his own designs. They would not listen and fined him for being Uncivil and disrespecting the law. Not long after Pyriels typicaly eloquent remark; the same sort that made him a loner growing up, they opened fire. That day Pyriel became an outlaw, as he fought back all his repressed emotions exploded and when it was over, several Liberty gunboats and nearly a half dozen cruisers drift lifelessly through the void. Recognized as loyal to the Order, but still not embraced he had no choice. He took his mission solo, and aids the Order in any way possible thanklessly. He still wages his private war with Outcast and Liberty Hackers but not with the zeal he fights the Nomads. Killing Nomads has become a way of life for him, and dropping them in Cambridge to be studied biologically, his chief means of income. In accomplishing his goals he respects no boundaries only results and remembers the Nomads did not disable the Wetstone they merely finished it along with the Outcast in the immediate area, and how he almost lost his brother to another act of piracy.

Pyriel's mission has been dealt a serious blow to its successful operation. Having found while docked for a couple days on Gran Canaria, someone had stolen his ship, newly found technology, and dismembered RMD-169, almost beyond repair, Pyriel had to start over. He now works from memory as he pieces RMD together and with the help of MKultra is replacing as much as he can, but is manually restoring lost data. His hunt continues hampered and hunted by bounty hunters for his misunderstanding with the law. This is the legacy of Pyriel captain of the SCORNSTAR.
